I’ve been riding for years and not one holed radiator, so why should I need a guard?
If you’ve never experienced a holed or severely damaged motorcycle radiator then you’ve been very lucky. This is especially true today because road surfaces are failing and are not maintained like they used to be. Broken road surfaces, loose surface chippings and substrate material is prone to being flicked up by bike tyres and passing traffic and these can literally puncture the radiator’s inner coolant core. Escaping coolant is dangerous because it is slippery. There’s also the high risk of engine damage due to overheating. Because most radiators are of a complex aluminium construction, they are expensive to replace. An EP Radiator Guard greatly reduces the risk of radiator damage – and they look good, too.
